About

Wei-Han Chen with a dual-arm robot setup

I'm Wei-Han Chen — I go by Daniel — a robotics and machine learning engineer, and a PhD student at Purdue researching multi-robot planning and perception, including published work on language-guided active sensing and low-cost collaborative planning for multi-arm robot table tennis at Purdue's SCALE Robotics Lab.

Alongside my PhD, I'm building Vibe, a startup developing humanoid robots for the home — I built a humanoid that walks reliably for under $300, and a VR teleoperation system for controlling mobile robots remotely.

Outside of research and the startup, I like building things that are a little more fun with the same tools — robots that play Connect 4, VR badminton, and real-time audio ML for karaoke.
